  International Society for Bipolar Disorders
  Psychiatric Trainee Awards Program

As part of our mission to educate future leaders, the International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD) will acknowledge stellar psychiatric residents and fellows worldwide by offering a number of awards for the year 2004. These awards recognize and help to support the work of young psychiatric investigators and are designed to facilitate future accomplishments.

Program Description
As part of this fellowship, residents and fellows will receive a subscription to Bipolar Disorders-An International Journal of Psychiatry and Neurosciences valued at US $170 and a one year subscription to the ISBD Global, the society's quarterly newsletter, valued at US $40, bringing the total value of this award to $210.  In addition to the journal and newsletter, awardees are entitled to

  • Access to the Members' Section of the website.
  • Participation in ISBD Regional Affiliated Groups around the world

ISBD members also have access to an international community of dedicated professionals all working toward the advancement of research and treatment of bipolar illness, providing an invaluable forum for networking with colleagues around the world.

All residents, fellows, and junior faculty who may stand to benefit from the award or whose accomplishments merit referral to the ISBD.

Application Process
Senior residents / mentors may submit an applicant's information on behalf of the trainee; alternatively, trainees may self-refer to the program by listing the name of their mentor in the appropriate box on the application form. Additional information/confirmation of credentials may be requested once the ISBD has received the trainee's application. Submission of an application does not necessarily guarantee admission into the program.

Deadline
In order to ensure efficient processing of all applications, we request that all applications are forwarded to the ISBD as early as possible. Applications that are postmarked by January 31st 2004 will be given priority.
