Call for Workshops
Submit Your Proposal for a Pre-Conference Workshop to the 5th Biennial Conference of the ISBD
Deadline is August 15th 2011!
Dear ISBD member,
After the successful ISBD course “Diagnosing, assessing and treating bipolar disorder: an experts’ course for young clinicians” on June 8, 2011, the day prior to the 9th International Conference on Bipolar Disorder (ICBD) in Pittsburgh, the ISBD has decided to also organize several workshops throughout the day on March 14, 2012 prior to the opening ceremony of the 5th Biennial Conference of the International Society for Bipolar Disorders in Istanbul.
In addition to a repeat of the “experts’ course for young clinicians”, ISBD will offer two workshops: one on women’s health organized by the ISBD women’s health task force, and one on “How to write a scientific paper” organized by the Bipolar Disorders journal
Up to 3 more workshops may be offered, and we encourage ISBD members to submit a proposal for a half-day workshop. The workshops should be interactive allowing much time for discussion, and the maximum number of participants will be 30.
Submission: If you, as an ISBD member, are interested in organizing a half-day workshop, please submit a proposal (1 page A4) in MS Word format with the aims, a global outline, the intended audience and the names of up to 4 suggested speakers, including the chairman.
You should submit your proposal by sending an email to
daversacd@upmc.edu before August 15, 2011 and you will be notified about acceptance by August 29, 2011.
Funding: ISBD is unable to support any costs associated with attending the workshops and the ISBD conference, including but not limited to registration, travel and accommodation.
This ISBD E-Newsletter features updates regarding a few ISBD opportunities! If you would like to share updates or news with the ISBD membership, please contact Ms. Jahmaiah Lewis at lewisj8@upmc.edu.
